  1. Discovering this hidden gem through TRAVEL iNTi was an absolute delight! Our walking tour guide recommended this small bar/restaurant, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped in for the famous Port/tonic, we were mesmerized by the showmanship of the barman/owner.

Picture this: he brought out a wooden board adorned with star anise and a cinnamon stick, along with the glasses, port, tonic, and ice. The real spectacle began when he set light to the star anise, filling the glasses with aromatic smoke as he turned them upside down. Adding a big block of ice, he expertly swirled it around the glass before pouring in two measures of white port, creating a mesmerizing “fountain” effect as he poured the tonic down the handle of a long-handled spoon.

To top it off, he ignited a cinnamon stick, infusing the drink with even more flavor. It was an experience not to be missed!

But the magic didn’t stop there. We also indulged in some of his homemade snack pies and bread with ham and cheese and chorizo, which perfectly complemented the drinks.

This place is truly a hidden gem, and I highly recommend adding it to your travel itinerary through TRAVEL iNTi. You won’t regret it!
